The Association of Oregon Centers for Independent Living (AOCIL) and 8 individuals with mobility and/or visual impairments have entered into a class action settlement agreement with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to address missing and non-compliant curb ramps and traffic signals on the entire state highway system. This involves over 12,000 curb ramp locations.
There will be 5 public meetings held around the state during January and February. At these forums, you can:
- Learn more about the settlement
- Get your questions answered by DRO, AOCIL, and ODOT
- Get a copy of the Settlement Agreement
The meeting locations are accessible to persons with disabilities. A request for an interpreter for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, or for other accommodations for persons with disabilities, should be made as soon as possible, and at least 48 hours before the meeting. If you need the settlement materials in another format (other than OCR Text Recognizable PDF), such as large print, please let us know.
If you have questions or need accommodations, please contact Tom Stenson at Disability Rights Oregon at 800-452-1694 or email@example.com.
