Michael is an independent consultant on disability rights and international development.
He has a Master in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and worked for the U.N. International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia (ICTY), and the European Centre for Minority Issues before moving to Portland in 2005 to work at Mercy Corps.
Between 2008-2013 he worked at the Disability Rights Fund, where he oversaw grant-making in Africa, parts of Asia, and Ukraine. Since 2013 he has been an independent consultant. His clients include: the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), Handicap International, Women’s Refugee Commission, and the City of Portland.
He is based in Portland, and lives with his partner and their daughter. He joined the Board of Disability Rights Oregon in 2017.
