The U.S. Department of Education released a fact sheet providing clarification to their initial guidance released amidst the COVID-19 pandemic:
In response to concerns raised by disability rights advocates across the country, Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, clarified: “Nothing issued by this Department should in any way prevent any school from offering educational programs through distance instruction.”
We will watch to be sure that the U.S. Department of Education follows up on that promise.
