Firefighters continue to battle the enormous blazes that have disrupted life in our state.

So many have lost so much.

Our hearts are with those who've been impacted.

For evacuees and others affected by the wildfires, there are supports to help you. We wanted to share a few with you here.

Evacuees with Disabilities in Need of Support

If you're a wildfire evacuee with a disability and need support related to your disability, the Red Cross Disability Integration team can help advocate for you and connect you to needed supports.

The Red Cross Disability Integration program helps evacuees staying at any type of Red Cross evacuation placement, including:

  • hotels,

  • motels, and

  • shelters.

If you're in one of those placements, the program can help advocate for your disability related needs, such as:

  • physical accessibility issues at shelters,

  • communication needs that aren't being met, or

  • if you're having trouble accessing durable medical equipment through Red Cross's Disaster Health Services.
