Board of Directors

The Board of Directors guide Disability Rights Oregon's work. The Board includes people with disabilities, family members, attorneys familiar with disability issues, members of other organizations that are active on related issues, members of under-represented populations, and people from different regions of the state.

Mental Health Advisory Council

The Board’s Mental Health Advisory Council is comprised of people who experience mental illness and their family members, mental health providers, members of the public knowledgeable about mental illness, and attorneys.

Under the Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness Act, the Council is responsible for:

Advising the Board and staff on policies and priorities to be carried out in protecting and advocating for the rights of individuals considered to be mentally ill in Oregon.

Working with the Board and the Mental Health Rights Project staff to develop the annual statement of objectives and priorities for the Mental Health Rights Project.

Completing a section of the annual Federal program performance report that describes the activities of the Council and its assessment of the operation and quality of services of the Mental Health Rights Project.

Educating the public about Disability Rights Oregon’s purpose, priorities and activities.
