Melissa Roy-Hart

Communications Director

Melissa joined Disability Rights Oregon in May 2023 as Communications Director. Her career has been focused on nonprofit development communications, media relations, and public affairs at The Nature Conservancy, and in higher education and healthcare.

Before joining Disability Rights Oregon, Melissa also worked as a consultant to nonprofit and for-profit clients across the Pacific Northwest. She brings deep experience in strategic messaging and storytelling.

Melissa holds a Master of Arts in Journalism and Communications from the University of Oregon and a bachelor’s in broadcasting and political sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

She's also a proud mom and marching band member who enjoys live music, gardening, kayaking, science fiction, and spending time with her husband, pets, and chickens.
